Glatfelter Suite

The Glatfelter Suite is named after Israel Glatfelter (1835–1920), the owner of the Mill from 1885 to 1918 and builder of the adjoining building to the east. Glatfelter was responsible for significant improvements to the Mill between 1885 and 1918, particularly converting from millstones to rollers, boosting overall production capacity, and developing his retail and tailoring business on the adjacent sawmill's foundation (now 48 Water Street).

This suite features a king bed, a private bathroom, and a convertible futon sofa to provide sleeping arrangements for up to four people.

Boeckel Suite

Carl E. Boeckel (1917–1996) managed the mill as June Bug Feeds from 1950 until 1972, at which time he bought the inventory, leased the building, and ran the mill until 1980. The feed inventory was strictly sold to Kirk and Kathy Ehrhart, who operated under the name K&K Feeds. K&K Feeds went out of business in 1983 and the Mill sold to Cecil and Mary Artrip to be converted to its modern day use as a restaurant, inn, and retail merchant shops. Carl Boeckel was the last person to mill products here.

This suite features a king bed, a private bathroom, and a convertible futon sofa to provide sleeping arrangements for up to four people.

NCR Suite

The NCR Suite is named for the North Central Railway (NCRY) that carried passengers and freight along the same train tracks adjacent to this room to and from this Mill from the 1800s well into the 20th century. President Abraham Lincoln rode the NCR on his way to and from delivering the Gettysburg Address. Two years later, the NCR carried his funeral car along the same tracks. On June 1, 2013, Steam into History, a nonprofit heritage railroad, held its grand opening and began hauling passengers between New Freedom and Hanover Junction.

This suite features a king bed, a private bathroom, and a convertible futon sofa to provide sleeping arrangements for up to four people.

Heathcote Suite

The Heathcote Suite is named after William Heathcote (1806–1889), the original builder of the brick woolen Mill on the property of the then-abandoned sawmill. Heathcote was the owner from 1837 to 1851. He installed a 10-foot water wheel and by 1839 began the manufacture of woolens and textiles. He sold lots from his farm for building and a small hamlet began developing around the Mill. To help outfit and staff the new woolen mill, Heathcote had four of his brothers join him in the York County area, several of whom stayed with their families in the area for the rest of their lives.

The Heathcote Suite is the largest room with separate bedroom and living room areas, each with their own gas fireplace. Additional sleeping arrangements in the Heathcote Suite allow for lodging of up to eight adults. This large suite also provides access to the original cupola at the top of the Glen Rock Mill Inn.

STANDARD GUEST ROOMS

Our six standard sized rooms include many of the same modern amenities as the other rooms, such as all-new furniture and fixtures, large TVs, and WiFi. Although the rooms at the Inn feature modern conveniences, the character of the old building remains in the exposed brick walls and slightly squeaky, lightly sloping floors!
